What we will and won't do
We don't sell hardware. We don't receive referral fees, reseller margins, or commissions from any camera brand, smart lock manufacturer, or monitoring company. Our recommendation is based entirely on what fits your property, budget, and operational model.
We don't design systems that require our ongoing involvement to manage. Every setup is documented so that you — or any competent IT professional or property manager — can take over without calling us.
We don't recommend subscriptions you don't need. If a $0/month local-storage solution meets your requirements, we'll tell you that even if a cloud subscription would generate a referral payment.
We work with any hardware you already own where it's appropriate, and recommend replacements only when there's a genuine gap — not because a new product line exists.

Your $298 Consult fee applies toward a Buildout. Book the Consult first to get a written plan — if you want us to execute it on-site, that fee is credited directly against the $898 Buildout. No separate entry fee, no penalty for upgrading.
Unlike SimpliSafe, Vivint, or Ring — we don't sell hardware, don't lock you into a platform, and hand you full documentation when we're done.
All tiers are flat-rate deposits — no hidden fees, no upsell at the door. Hardware is purchased separately by you, at retail. We don't mark it up.

Do you sell hardware or earn commissions from vendors?
No. BOOJEE Security is strictly a consulting service. We don't sell hardware and don't receive commissions from any brand or retailer. Our recommendations are based entirely on what fits your property, budget, and use case.
What's the difference between a Security Consult and a Smart Home Buildout?
The Security Consult ($298) is a 1-hour virtual session — we review your property layout, current setup, and goals, then deliver a written plan you can execute yourself or hand to any contractor. The Smart Home Buildout ($898) is on-site: we show up, configure the system, and walk you through it. All documentation is yours to keep.
What does 'vendor-neutral' actually mean in practice?
It means we don't have a preferred brand. We'll recommend Ring, Arlo, Reolink, Ubiquiti, or any other platform based on your actual needs — not because someone pays us to. We're equally comfortable with wired and wireless, cloud and local-only, subscription-based and one-time hardware.
Is my setup documented so I'm not dependent on you for changes?
Yes — that's a core commitment. Every engagement includes a written system document: camera placements, network config, device credentials, app setup, and maintenance notes. You should be able to hand this to any IT professional or new property manager and have them pick up where we left off.
Do you work remotely or only on-site?
The Security Consult is fully virtual — video call plus written deliverable. The Smart Home Buildout and Estate Security packages are on-site within our service area. For properties outside the service area, contact us — some installations can be coordinated with local contractors using our remote guidance.
What's included in the 3-month support period on the Estate package?
Email and phone support for configuration questions, device troubleshooting, and system changes. This is operational support — not a monitoring contract. If you add a camera, change a lock code, or update your network, we're available to help you do it correctly.
Can I start with a Consult and upgrade to Buildout later?
Yes — and that's a reasonable path. The consult gives you a clear plan; if you decide to have us execute it rather than DIY, your consult fee is credited toward the Buildout package.
What if I already have a system — can you just audit it?
That's a common starting point. Bring your existing setup to the Security Consult ($298) and we'll evaluate what you have, identify gaps, and tell you whether to keep, reconfigure, or replace components.
Do you handle alarm monitoring contracts?
We help you evaluate monitoring options and set them up — but we don't sell or broker monitoring contracts ourselves. Our position is that you should understand what you're paying for and be able to cancel or switch providers without penalty.
