This letter is a practical guide to the domains and websites listed in Section 3 of this binder.
Its purpose is to help you understand what exists, where the relevant access is, and what to do
with each. This is not legal advice; please work with the estate attorney for any questions about
legal authority or probate requirements.
What a domain is: A domain (like "jordanrivera.com") is a web address that
someone pays to rent annually. The registrar is the company that manages the rental. The hosting
provider is where the website's content lives. These are often two different companies.
If a domain is not renewed, it expires and anyone can purchase it — which may include sensitive
personal or business content attached to it.
Your first step: Open the 1Password app on the device listed in Section 4 of this binder.
The credentials to access 1Password itself are held by [name of trusted contact — not recorded here]
per Jordan's separate secure instructions. Once inside 1Password, the entries referenced in
Section 3 will give you login access to each registrar and hosting account.
Priority actions — do these within the first two weeks:
- Log into each registrar (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Squarespace) and verify the auto-renewal payment method is still active. If the associated credit card or PayPal has been frozen or cancelled, update it or the domains will lapse.
- Download / export any website content you wish to preserve before closing any account.
- Contact each registrar with a copy of the death certificate and your letters testamentary to initiate formal transfer or closure.
- For riveraphotography.co, contact Elena Rivera (elena@example.com) before closing — she has agreed to take over client file management.
What you do not need to do: You do not need to know any passwords to read this binder.
The location of every credential needed is recorded; the credentials themselves are in 1Password.
